Avid Rock Concert Poster Collector Announces His Search For Original 1950s and 1960s The Biggest Show Of Stars Posters

(PRWEB) October 29, 2011

Andrew Hawley, of Vintage Rock Posters, announces his plans to search for original The Biggest Show Of Stars posters. During the 1950's many of the biggest acts of the day performed on the same concert bill for an evening.

According to Hawley, ?Buddy Holly performed on the Biggest Show of Stars Tour in 1957 and in 1958. These multi-act shows would travel the country by bus and would perform 50 concerts in 50 nights. It was not like today where the biggest performers will fly first class and stay in luxury hotels. Many times these performers would experience bus trouble along the way or have to travel through extreme weather conditions.?

Hawley continues, ?One of the most famous package tours of the 1950's and 1960's was called The Biggest Show Of Stars which was put on and sponsored by Irving Feld who would later become the owner of Ringling Bros. And Barnum & Bailey Circus. The Biggest Show Of Stars started in 1957 and lasted through 1967. This package tour featured the latest and greatest talent and the posters that were used to advertise their upcoming concerts were the usual 17?x22? and 22?x28? window card sized posters. Many of the posters were printed by the Globe Poster Company of Baltimore, Maryland. They featured bright and beautiful colors. The posters were flashy and featured a photograph of the artist along with the title of their latest hit song. These posters are absolutely gorgeous and feature great color combinations that really make the posters pop! Sometimes the Biggest Show Of Stars Tours would simply feature a combination of great rock-n-rollers and R&B artists and in other cases it would simply be a show of just the latest and greatest Motown artists. Feld did an incredible job of bringing his audience the best talent around and the posters that were used to advertise these show are truly gorgeous pieces to display.?

Hawley will pay $ 3,000 for original 1957 to 1967 Biggest Show Of Stars or any other multi-act package tour poster from the 1950's and 60's. Any condition is accepted. Sellers will be paid in cash within 24 hours guaranteed. For more information, go to http://www.vintageconcertposterbuyer.com..

Avid Collector Seeks 1969 Jim Morrison And The Doors Electric Circus Concert Poster

Denver, Colorado (PRWEB) November 30, 2011

Andrew Hawley, from Vintage Rock Posters, is a dedicated collector of 1950's and 1960's vintage concert posters. Hawley is searching for vintage 1967-70 Jim Morrison and the Doors concert posters. Hawley is particularly interested in finding posters for the Electric Circus Doors concert in New York City on August 8,1969. According to Hawley, ?What makes The Electric Circus poster so interesting is the show actually never happened. The concert was cancelled due to Jim Morrison's rowdy performance in Miami five months earlier. The Miami concert was the first Doors show of the 1969 tour and it was the beginning of the end of Jim Morrison?s short, brilliant, but destructive career. The Miami performance was a disaster with Morrison being arrested for apparently exposing himself along with a myriad of other charges. This negative exposure caused a domino affect of cancellations as one city after another nixed The Doors performances.?

Hawley adds, ?The Electric Circus was a hip night club spot in New York's Greenwich Village. Even though the show was canceled, a concert poster was still made. This makes the poster rare and unique. The poster was silk-screened on heavy paper and features a striking image of Morrison in blue against a bright orange background. This poster is unique because its does not list ticket prices or where to buy tickets. Electric Circus was small so concert goers just bought their tickets at the box office. The Electric Circus would have been a wonderful opportunity to see one of the leading acts of the 1960s in a small venue. To bad it was canceled.?

Hawley is on the hunt for this poster or any other vintage 1967-70 Jim Morrison and the Doors concert posters. He is willing to pay $ 3,000 cash for each poster....any condition would be accepted! Please call 310-346-1965. For more information about Door concert posters, go to http://www.vintageconcertposterbuyer.com/gallery_the_doors.html.
